The Altivar 32, is a slim format (bookend) inverter drive designed for advanced mid-range machines with asynchronous and synchronous motors from 0.18 to 15kW. Power ratings up to 1.5kW are designed around a 45mm wide module, and units from 1.5 to 4kW use a slim book-style case, and this side-by-side mounting means a reduction in enclosure size of up to 40%. They can also be mounted horizontally.
Onboard functionality includes 150 application-specific functions and integrated programmable logic functions to remove the need for a separate PLC. Embedded machine safety features including safe torque off, safe limited speed and safe stop. ATV32 is suitable for standalone applications and a wide range of metal and wood cutting processes.
Typical Altivar 32 applications
- Hoisting machines
- Simple packaging machines
- Material handling machines
- Textile machines
- Metal bending and welding, machines
ATV32 has embedded CANopen and Modbus communications to connect to external devices. Most of the popular open and proprietary industrial communications networks can be accessed by inserting a communication cassette in the drive. These include EtherNet/IP; Modbus TCP (double port); Profibus; DeviceNet; EtherCat and others.
Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity is available through Schneider’s SoMove software suite, allowing remote configuration and control. SoMove removes the need for a PC and all of the configuration data can be stored on an SD card. Of particular use for OEMs, ATV32 can be configured without removing it from its original packaging.
ATV32 can be used with tools common to several other Schneider Electric inverter drive products including: remote graphic display terminal for remote configuration; Multi Loader for storing and loading configurations, and Simple Loader for duplicating and loading a single configuration to multiple drives.
