Salvo has been a trusted name in loading bay safety and efficiency solutions for nearly two decades, leading the way in addressing critical safety concerns such as accidental drive-aways. Beyond ensuring safety, implementing Salvo's solutions can streamline the flow of goods, creating a safer and more efficient loading bay environment. But how does it work?
Salvo’s system employs trapped key interlocking technology to enforce a strict sequence of safe loading or unloading operations. This solution interlocks the trailer’s air brakes with the loading bay door, preventing the trailer from moving until the process is fully completed.
Here’s how it works in detail: The process begins with the application of the Salvo Susie lock onto the trailer’s emergency brake coupling. Only after this step is completed can the trapped key be released. This key is then inserted into the Salvo control panel or door lock, granting access to the loading bay. During loading or unloading, the key remains securely trapped in the control panel or door lock, ensuring the process cannot be interrupted. The key can only be retrieved once the loading bay door is securely locked closed, signifying the operation is complete.
Once the operation is finished, the released key is used to unlock and remove the Salvo Susie lock from the trailer’s emergency brake coupling. This final step enables the driver to safely depart, completing the process without risk.
